Vstaja lezbosov: HOMO-RISK
Vstaja lezbosov (or The Insurrection of Lesbos’) is still asking questions about intents and meanings of public space; asking where do lesbians find their public place. By using video and elements of theatre performance – and your help – they will be discovering an ironical narrowness of the heteronormativity and go over the boundaries of the visible and audible. We recommend the use of anti-virus protection clothing; the lesbian virus is raging again!

The group Vstaja lezbosov was formed after October 10th 2007 as an answer to the incident that occurred that day in Orto Bar where two women were forced to leave the bar because of kissing! Vstaja lezbosov reacted with a manifestation in front of Orto held on October 17th where the activists handed out fliers with the message: »Against the politics of excommunication and the process of normalization of society«. Before this manifestation they decorated Ljubljana’s bridges and the railway bridge beside Orto Bar with banners. In November 2007, the lesbian activist group changed the official address of the seat of Maribor’s Episcopal Office to Path to the Lesbian Peak and The Lesbian Brigade Square. They also changed the names of other streets in Maribor to the Square of the Lesbian Revolution (including no. 69!), Lesbian Street, Path to the Lesbian…
The performance is in Slovenian.
